Was talking to someone the other day and sharing about the challenges that we seem to perpetually face and how sometimes in the midst of the storm we begin to compromise on what God would rather have us do. And as I was reflecting and pondering over such, I came across this verse in a new light:
Matthew 6:30-34 (Message version)
30-33"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
34"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.
I really love this verse a lot. When I first came across it. Sometimes we really get very PREOCCUPIED with GETTING that we miss out on the main point of our RESPONSE towards God's giving.
Steeping my life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions.

hey thanks for sharing =) i think to steep our life to be more God conscious is always something we should always strive to grow in =) but when i read that: Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. i really do not understand what God-reality, God-initiative and God-provisions mean... When google this three words..haha, read through some resources online...
reality means what really is the situation, not what situation we hope to see, it is to know exactly where we are standing so that we may assess it and find a way to do something about it (because we always want to grow, so we'll always need to do something!) thus i think God-reality here means we assess and know what is the real situation that we are in, in God... Example: knowing which season of life are we at now? What is the area that God is growing you?
initiative means to assess and start, be first (quick) to take action in a situation... first we assess, now we must be begin to do something, come out with a plan!
provision means supply... something i didn't realise before: provision does not just mean to provide, it means to foresee and then take action. If we do not foresee, we wouldn't know what is the appropriate action to take.
yup, so this is what i concluded from my 'research'!! haha what do u think? what do you think God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions mean?
