Was reading on Matthew 6 today and these verses spoke to me quite a bit. Not that we are to live discrete and secretive lives, but what happens when all that is around you is stripped away? When all your close friends are no longer serving God alongside of you, or even abandoned the faith. When people whom you serve don't seem to reciprocate your care, concern and attention. When the vast amount of efforts given does not yield the results that you hope for. When circumstances just don't seem to go your way. When the journey just seems to get too long, too far and every fiber of your soul feels sapped of its strength.
What will you do?
Recently had this short conversation and I was posted this question:
"Who is your closest friend in church?"
I wasn't quite sure how to answer this question. Haven't caught up with my old friends in my previous ministries and still forging new bonds and friendships with people in my current ministry. But one thing is for sure, I'm not reliant fully on them. God will still be the anchor in my life, though I'm not sure how I will truly respond when all has really been stripped away.
On a side note, going down to NUS later to do some catching up with Apinun and Jasmine Loh. So exciting! Wahahahaha...
P.S. Dear God, drive my anchor deeper into You.
